SACRAMENTO, California — California announced a total of $300,000 in rewards on October 23 for information helping solve homicide cases in six counties.
The announcement covers cases in San Mateo, Sacramento, Fresno, Los Angeles, San Diego and Ventura counties. State officials urged people with relevant information to contact the law enforcement agency handling the corresponding investigation.
One case concerns two men, Gurmej N., 78, and Surinder N., 65, who were killed during an afternoon walk in Elk Grove in 2011, according to the state release. Other cases span several decades.
The Governor’s Reward Program allows law enforcement agencies to request assistance in certain unsolved cases after investigative leads have been exhausted. Reward eligibility depends on the applicable conditions, including information leading to arrest and conviction. The source announcement provides case-specific agency contacts.
