AUSTIN, Texas — A $50 million gift from the Stephens Greth Foundation will support scholarships for Permian Basin students and engineering education at UT Austin.

The university’s October 15 announcement links the donation with the Autry C. Stephens Scholarship and the newly opened engineering building bearing his name.

Stephens earned engineering degrees at UT before building a career in the Permian Basin energy industry. The foundation says the gift is intended to expand educational opportunity for future students from the region.

Scholarship eligibility, application procedures and award timing should be confirmed through the university. The donation is an institutional commitment, not an automatic scholarship award for every applicant.
