RENO, Nevada — The Orvis School of Nursing has announced an accelerated pathway for people who already hold a bachelor’s degree in another field and want to enter nursing.

The University of Nevada, Reno describes a 12-month, in-person program combining nursing coursework with clinical learning across fall, winter, spring and summer terms. Up to 32 students will be admitted each fall, according to its October 21 report.

Applicants must complete designated prerequisites, meet university admission requirements, obtain the required TEAS examination score and finish their first degree before starting.

The program is intended to create another route into Nevada’s nursing workforce. Prospective applicants should review the school’s official program information for current requirements, application dates, costs and licensing preparation before applying.
