LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Physicians at UNLV are participating in national research on women’s health, expanding opportunities for clinical studies in Southern Nevada.

The university’s October 6 report highlights work led locally by Nadia Gomez and Yarini Quezada. One randomized study evaluates a microneedling device for overactive bladder; another examined a smaller robotic system for benign hysterectomy procedures.

The bladder study is experimental. Participation requires screening and informed consent, and the university’s account should not be read as proof that the device is effective for every patient.

UNLV also described its collaboration with University Medical Center of Southern Nevada as important to hospital-based trials. People interested in research participation should consult the official trial information and their clinicians about eligibility and potential risks.
