Wisconsin | Employment report | September 2026 data

Wisconsin recorded a seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 3.2 percent in September 2026, unchanged from August, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The September estimate is preliminary.
Employers’ payrolls totaled approximately 3,043,300 nonfarm jobs. The published estimates show 13,700 fewer jobs than in August. This payroll measure counts positions, rather than individual employed residents.
The civilian labor force was approximately 3,158,500 people, 10,200 higher than in August. A stable rounded unemployment rate can coexist with movement in payroll employment and labor-force participation.
These are numerical comparisons of estimates, not a determination that each change is statistically significant. Figures may be revised. The state table was extracted October 20, 2026.
