Britain’s Angharad Evans enthusiastically welcomed London’s selection to host the 2027 Swimming World Cup finale, according to an interview published this week by World Aquatics.
The European 100-meter breaststroke champion highlighted the opportunity to compete in front of her home crowd and have her family join her at the London Aquatics Centre.
Evans also emphasized the effect an international meet can have on young swimmers. Seeing stars from different countries up close, she explained, can become an experience that inspires new sporting ambitions.
The London leg will also offer Olympic qualification in the men’s 50-meter breaststroke and women’s 50-meter backstroke. Evans did not rule out exploring the shorter distance in her own competitive program.
The meet is scheduled for October 29 to 31, 2027. The swimmer’s reaction follows the announcement of the circuit’s three European host cities.
