Five arrests reported in Sihochac after complaint of alleged loan-related extortion

Five people were detained in Sihochac, in the municipality of Champotón, following a complaint of alleged threats and extortion related to loan collection, Tribuna Campeche reported.

According to that account, a woman sought assistance from police and prosecutors. The detainees were taken to State Attorney General’s Office facilities to determine their legal status.

The outlet said the operation’s details and any possible charges had not been officially confirmed when its report closed. For that reason, claims of alleged seizures of weapons or money are not presented as established. Any responsibility must be determined through the investigation and the corresponding legal proceedings.
