The town of Manassa, in Conejos County, received a $573,500 federal grant to strengthen its police department, the Colorado U.S. Attorney’s Office announced in Denver on October 20.
The funding supports equipment, mobility, officer safety, emergency response, traffic patrol, field reporting and evidence handling. Although the town has fewer than 1,000 residents, it hosts thousands of visitors during events; the allocation is intended for municipal public safety.
