Uphold introduced a feature for designating beneficiaries of assets in its Vault service, according to a CoinMarketCap report covering an October 23 announcement.
The tool requires an approved claim before transferring the assets and allows the beneficiary to be changed or removed. Its operation must be assessed alongside the service terms and documentation requirements.
Vault uses an assisted self-custody model in which the user holds two of three keys. Losing both can mean permanent loss. Naming a beneficiary does not replace understanding key recovery or the subscription’s obligations and renewals.
