Its director considered the situation manageable and called for preventing the outbreak from spreading.
Comondú, BCS.— José Alejandro Ávalos Bracho, director general of the National Center for Preventive Programs and Disease Control, called for stronger action against dengue in Baja California Sur, with special attention to Comondú, according to an October 24 NBCS Noticias report.
During his visit, the official considered the situation still manageable but warned of the need to contain transmission and avoid a critical scenario. This assessment reflects his statements and does not mean infections have stopped.
The report says the federal body coordinates with state health authorities and provides equipment and supplies for mosquito control.
Ávalos Bracho also highlighted community participation in removing containers holding water. The information concerns an institutional assessment during the visit and provides neither a new statistical update nor a replacement for subsequent health notices.
