The Coahuila State Government and Simas Torreón are replacing the Rodríguez–La Joya II main sewer to improve wastewater removal in the La Amistad and La Cortina neighborhoods, Vanguardia reported.
The project replaces a 42-inch asbestos pipe with a 60-inch high-density polyethylene pipe to increase flow capacity.
Work is concentrated on Bartolomé de las Casas and Canal de la Concha, with a connection to the La Joya II pumping station and interconnections between sewer networks. The report describes an ongoing project; its anticipated benefits depend on completion and operation. Simas asked residents to keep trash and grease out of drains.
