Hugo Sánchez honored at CU half a century after his debut

Hugo Sánchez was honored at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario on Saturday, October 24, during the match between Pumas and Tigres.

The tribute commemorated 50 years since his professional debut on October 23, 1976. The celebration reunited the former striker with supporters of the club where he began his career.

The tribute made the evening a meeting of different generations of university club supporters.

The ceremony accompanied the match that ended in a 1–1 draw and recalled a defining period in the history of Pumas and Mexican football.
