Nevada federal prosecutors announced a charge on October 23 against a person accused of voting in a federal election without U.S. citizenship. The case was announced from Las Vegas and involved the FBI and HSI.
The statement describes an unresolved criminal charge. Filing charges is not a conviction and does not by itself demonstrate widespread election irregularities. Prosecutors must prove the offense’s elements in court, and the accused retains the presumption of innocence.
