Oslo.— Norway reached an agreement to restart grants to Hungary, Reuters reported on October 23, after a decade without transfers because of disagreements with the previous government.
The €254.1 million agreement was scheduled to be signed on Monday by Hungary, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. Norway provides 97% of the resources.
The program will finance cooperation on democracy, press freedom, anti-corruption efforts and the green transition. Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said controls had been agreed to monitor the use of the money.
