Richard Cornell Brown was sentenced to seven years in federal prison for possessing a firearm despite prior convictions prohibiting him from doing so. Northern District of Georgia prosecutors announced the sentence from Rome on October 23.
The firearm was found when police arrested him on other allegations. The announced federal conviction concerns the firearms offense and should not be confused with a ruling on every allegation mentioned as background in the statement. Local and federal authorities collaborated in the investigation.
