Russia and Ukraine carried out a prisoner exchange on October 23 that allowed 270 people from each side to return, Reuters reported.
The operation followed contacts with U.S. negotiators during that week. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy separately confirmed the return of 270 members of his forces.
The exchange is a humanitarian outcome amid continuing fighting. It does not mean the two governments have resolved their differences over territory or security guarantees.
