West Palm Beach: Jury convicts man of attempted commercial sexual exploitation of a minor

Luis David Garrido-Garcia, 25, was found guilty of attempting to engage in commercial sexual activity with a person he believed was 15 years old, federal prosecutors in South Florida announced on October 22.

According to the case, Garrido-Garcia was told the person’s age, agreed to pay and traveled for more than an hour before his arrest. The verdict establishes guilt, while sentencing is a separate stage. Identifying information about minors is withheld.
