China’s Yu Yiting ended the 2026 World Cup with an Asian record of 2:02.63 in the 200-meter individual medley in Astana, a result highlighted by World Aquatics in its October review.
Yu won the event at all three stops on the circuit. At the Kazakh stop, she also set an Asian record of 55.17 in the 100-meter butterfly.
The times were recorded in a short-course pool. The swimmer will arrive at December’s World Championships in her home country with a series of performances that reinforce her international prominence.
