Insurers begin receiving storm damage claims in Eiker area

Buskerud, Norway.— Insurance companies began receiving claims following the weekend storm, Eikernytt reported on October 25. The damage described included leaking roofs, water in basements and problems related to fallen trees.

Companies increased staffing to handle reports and expected further notifications as residents inspected their properties. The report did not provide a consolidated number of claims or a final estimate of losses. It also described traffic problems caused by standing water on local roads.
