Jonathan Aranda began his World Series career with three hits, a walk and two runs scored in the game on Friday, October 23. His performance could not prevent Tampa Bay’s 3–2 loss to Milwaukee.
The Mexican player singled against Jacob Misiorowski in the first inning. He then drew a walk in the fourth and added hits in the sixth and ninth.
Aranda scored both Rays runs in that opening game. His final single, against Trevor Megill, helped keep Tampa Bay’s comeback alive.
Before the game, Aranda explained that Alejandro Kirk had advised him to enjoy the experience and remain true to his own way of playing. This report concerns Game 1 on October 23.
