Norway.— Climate and Environment Minister Sigrun Aasland was due to travel to Armenia on Monday for the United Nations biodiversity conference COP17, the ministry announced October 25.
The meeting will assess progress under the global biodiversity agreement. Aasland was invited to lead finance negotiations, while the role of Indigenous peoples and the 2030 targets—including conservation of 30% of land and sea and ecosystem restoration—remain central issues.
The announcement concerns upcoming negotiations and evaluation; it does not confirm agreements in advance.
